Peter August-Sjodin, a Little Shuswap Native Indian, envisioned and brought to life the yearly festival which features many First Nations entertainers and is headlined by Peter's own band Tribal.

Peter and Tribal bandmate Mike Collins - and now the Squilax Fine Arts & Music Society - are working towards establishing a Music Camp for Underprivileged Children, the purpose of which is to engage, encourage and educate children who show an interest in music. Profits from ticket sales at the Tribal Funk Festival are directed into setting up and running this camp.

The Squilax Fine Arts & Music Society was formed to establish and oversee both the music festival and the Music Camp for Underprivileged Children. Please see our information pages to find out all the ways that you too can contribute: consider getting involved as Performer, Volunteer, Sponsor or Vendor. You'll have a lot of fun with the festival and gain a great personal satisfaction as your participation helps to ensure the success of both the festival and the Music Camp that will enrich the lives of so many children who are eager to make music a part of their worlds. If you have any questions or need further information, please feel free to contact us at any time.
