Biography
Mike Collins
Mike Collins is the Creative Director for the Squilax Music Festival.
I am a musician with 32 years of experience. My main instrument is guitar, but I have played many other instruments and do vocals as well. I have performed many concerts in schools, universities, festivals, clubs, theatres and everything in between. I have also had the pleasure of performing at Montreal's Place Des Arts and the Pacific Coliseum.
I have recorded three albums, a single, many demos, and have participated on recordings for many different artists over the years. One band I was in played with John Lee Hooker.
I also write my own songs in the genres of jazz, folk, rock, soft pop and funk.
My aspirations are simple: to succeed and have my talents recognized. The growth of musical creativity is a gift and the ability to express the ideas make up the character of a person. I feel all of this should be shared to help others and encourage peace, harmony, feeling and love.
